Create Sugar Tasks
Create one or a series of tasks in SugarCRM, each with its own name, priority, status, and due date.
A hot form submission is only worth something if a salesperson follows up on it. This action puts that follow-up on the right person's task list in Sugar the moment it happens — and because you can create several tasks at once with staggered due dates, you can hand sales a whole follow-up cadence, not a single reminder.
The action is available once your account has a SugarCRM integration.
Before You Start
Each task is created on the contact's existing Lead or Contact in Sugar, so the person must already be in Sugar when the task is created.
Adding Sync with SugarCRM to the same set of actions does not change that. The record and its tasks are queued separately, and Paminga does not guarantee the record reaches Sugar before its tasks do.
Configuring the Action
Task Owner
Every task the action creates goes to the same Sugar user.
- Assign Tasks to the current Lead Owner in Sugar — check this to give the tasks to whoever owns the Lead or Contact in Sugar. That is usually what you want: the follow-up lands with the rep who already owns the relationship.
- Fallback Task Owner — required. The Sugar user who gets the tasks when no Lead Owner is set in Sugar, or when you leave the checkbox above unchecked.
Tasks
Click Add a Task to add your first task, and Add Another Task for each one after it. Each task has:
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | Up to 255 characters. |
| Priority | Yes | The task priorities defined in your Sugar instance. |
| Status | Yes | The task statuses defined in your Sugar instance. |
| Due Date | Yes | No Due Date, or 1 to 30 days after the task is created. New tasks default to the day after. |
| Description | No | Up to 255 characters. |
There is no same-day due date. The earliest is the day after the task is created.
Things to Know
- For most accounts with a SugarCRM integration, Paminga's generic Create Tasks action is not offered. Use this one instead.
- Create Sugar Tasks is not available among CRM Sync Actions. Those actions run on records that just arrived from your CRM.
