Segmenting On Account Field Values
Segmenting on Account Field values is very similar to segmenting on Contact field values. When building your segment, you will simply choose conditions that are tied to Account Attributes instead of Contact Attributes.
In addition to the Standard Account Fields, you are able to create custom fields at the Account level. Paminga does not limit the number of custom fields you can create.
Custom fields can be useful when you wish to create segments that group specific types of Accounts you’ve defined. For example, let’s say you work with a range of large and small companies and you’d like to differentiate between those that are Regional (serving only a small area) and those that are International, with wide reach.
You might create a custom field called “Account Reach” where you specify “Regional” or “International” as the value.
Segmenting on Account Standard Fields
Paminga allows to segment on any Account Standard Fields. These include:
- Account Modified (Date)
- Account Number
- Account Owner
- Account Ownership
- Billing City
- Billing Country
- Billing State
- Billing Street
- Billing Zip
- Description
- Employees
- Fax
- Industry
- Known ISP
- Name
- Phone
- Revenue
- Shipping City
- Shipping Country
- Shipping State
- Shipping Street
- Shipping Zip
- SIC Code
- Status
- Type
- Unique Account ID
- Website
Segmenting on ICPs
An Account's ICP is not an Account field, so you won't find it in the list above. An Account holds one Ideal Customer Profile per Brand — an ICP for All Brands, plus one for each Brand you've created — and that takes a condition of its own.
In the Segment Builder, choose the ICPs condition. It sits beside Personas rather than under Account fields, and it gives you two fields:
- ICP — one of the ICPs you've defined. On its own, the condition matches Accounts classified as that ICP for any Brand: "ICP is Mid-Market SaaS."
- Brand — optional. Add it to match only Accounts whose ICP for that Brand is the one you picked: "ICP is Mid-Market SaaS for Brand Y."
ICPs are recorded on Accounts by hand or by the Paminga IQ: ICP Classification Agent action — which crawls each Account's website and determines which of your ICPs best applies for the Brand you choose.
Segments built on ICPs are where classification pays off: target campaigns by ICP, branch workflows by ICP, or score leads differently depending on the kind of company they work for.
Earlier builds of Paminga offered ICP as an Account standard field. Segments built on that field no longer qualify contacts. If you have one, rebuild it with the ICPs condition.
Segmenting on Account Custom Fields
In addition to the Standard Account Fields, you are able to create custom fields at the Account level. Paminga does not limit the number of custom fields you can create.
Custom fields can be useful when you wish to create segments that group specific types of Accounts you’ve defined. For example, let’s say you work with a range of large and small companies and you’d like to differentiate between those that are Regional (serving only a small area) and those that are International, with a wide reach.
You might create a custom field called “Account Reach” where you specify “Regional” or “International” as the value.
Any Account Custom Field you create will be available via the Segment dropdown.
