Buying Groups
Your ability to access account settings may depend on the permissions setup by your organization.
This settings area defines the Member Roles available to your Buying Groups — the named subsets of an Account's Contacts that model who actually decides a deal.
Roles are defined once, account-wide. That's deliberate: when "Champion" means the same thing on every Buying Group, your segments can rely on it — "every Economic Buyer across all open deals" only works if everyone maps deals with the same vocabulary.
Default Member Roles
Every Paminga instance starts with five roles:
- Champion
- Economic Buyer
- End User
- Blocker
- Influencer
These are a starting point, not a fixed set. Shape them to match how your team actually maps deals.
Managing Member Roles
The Member Roles grid lists every role defined for your account.
- Add a role — click Add Member Role, name it, and save. It's immediately available in every Role picker.
- Rename a role — edit it from its row actions. The new name applies everywhere the role is used: existing Buying Group members, the Role pickers, and the Buying Group Membership segment condition.
- Delete a role — remove it from its row actions. Members who held that role stay in their Buying Groups; they show no role until you assign them a new one.
Renaming beats delete-and-recreate. A rename carries every existing member assignment with it; deleting a role clears the role from its members.
Where Member Roles Appear
- The Role picker when adding or editing members on an Account's Buying Groups tab
- The Role picker in the Segment Builder's Buying Group Membership condition, where "any Buying Group + a specific Role" turns your role taxonomy into targetable audiences
