Marketo

Beta Feature

The Marketo integration is in beta. It may not be turned on for your account yet. To request access, contact Paminga Support.

Paminga's Marketo integration exists for one job: moving you off Marketo. Connecting your Marketo instance gives Migration Center the access it needs to read your fields, folders, programs, tokens, forms, landing pages, and emails and rebuild them in Paminga.

Paminga only reads from Marketo. Nothing is written back to your Marketo instance.

Set Up an API User in Marketo

Paminga connects through Marketo's REST API, using a dedicated API-only user. In Marketo:

  1. Make sure the API user's role has Read-Only Asset permission (or broader Asset API access).
  2. Create an API-only user with that role.
  3. Go to Admin → LaunchPoint and create a LaunchPoint Custom Service for that API user.
  4. Open the service's details and copy its Client ID and Client Secret.

You'll also need your instance's Munchkin ID, which looks like 123-ABC-456. If you'd rather not hunt for it, copy the REST endpoint URL from Admin → Web Services instead; Paminga reads the Munchkin ID out of it.

Connect Paminga to Marketo

  1. In Paminga, go to Account Settings → Integrations and find the Marketo card.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Enter your Munchkin ID (or paste the REST endpoint URL), Client ID, and Client Secret.
  4. Click Connect to Marketo.

Paminga tests the credentials against your Marketo instance before saving anything, and tells you what went wrong if the test fails:

  • If the Munchkin ID, Client ID, or Client Secret is wrong, you're asked to check all three.
  • If the credentials work but the API user can't read assets, you're told to give the API user's role Read-Only Asset (or broader Asset API) permission.

Once connected, the card shows Paminga is connected to Marketo with your Munchkin ID, and an Open Migration Center button.

Your Client Secret is encrypted at rest and never shown again after you save it.

Change or Disconnect the Connection

To use different credentials, disconnect and connect again with the new ones.

Click Disconnect on the Marketo card and confirm to remove the connection. Paminga forgets the credentials, and Migration Center can't reach Marketo until you reconnect. Reconnecting later picks up your migration where you left off; the work you've done in Migration Center isn't lost.

Availability

The Marketo card appears on the Integrations page for accounts where Migration Center is turned on.
