Reply Guy
GTM is in beta. It may not be turned on for your account yet. To request access, contact Paminga Support.
Reply Guy is a work queue for commenting on LinkedIn. It holds the posts worth a comment right now, makes sure two people never comment on the same one, and keeps a record of who commented on what.
The comment itself is yours to write. Reply Guy shows you everything you need to write a good one: the post, its rating, the author's intent, your team's past activity with that author, and your Reply Templates.
The count beside Reply Guy in the tab bar, and the badge on the GTM menu, is the number of posts ready for a comment.
Which Posts Are Ready
A post enters Reply Guy when all three are true:
- It is rated at or above your queue cutoff (set in Setup › Rating)
- Its status is New
- Nobody holds a claim on it
The Ready to comment grid lists them newest first, because a fresh post is worth more. Each row shows the Search, the author (with a count of past posts by that author your team has handled), the rating, intent, audience, and when it was posted. Use the Search filter to work one Search at a time.
Claim, Comment, Record
- Click Claim on a post. It moves out of the queue and into Your claim at the top of the page.
- Click the post's text or Open on LinkedIn ↗ and write your comment there.
- Come back and click Comment Posted.
You hold one claim at a time. While you hold one, the other Claim buttons are disabled with a "Finish your current claim first" tooltip.
A claim lasts 120 minutes. The card counts down, and when time runs out the post goes back to the queue for someone else.
If you decide not to comment, you have three ways out:
- Release returns the post to the queue for someone else.
- More Actions › Skip sets the post aside for everyone.
- More Actions › Exclude this Author sets aside this post and every future one by the same author.
More Actions also offers View Rating Reasoning and Flag this rating, the same as on the Posts tab.
Past Activity with This Author
The claim card shows your team's recent history with the post's author: who commented on or skipped their earlier posts, and when, with a link to any of those posts that was discussed. It's the fastest way to avoid commenting on the same person three days running, or to pick up a conversation a teammate started.
Reply Templates
Reply Templates are the comments your team posts most often, saved so anyone can copy them. Open them from the Reply Templates link on your claim card. Search by title or text, then click Copy and paste into LinkedIn.
Each template has a Title and Text. Create, edit, and delete them from Manage in the same drawer, or from Setup › Commenting.
Flag for Discussion
Sometimes a post deserves a comment and you aren't sure what to say, or whether to say anything. Flag for Discussion asks your team.
When you flag, you choose what you need:
- How to comment
- Whether to comment
- About the author or the company
- Something else
You can add a comment to explain. The post stays yours and leaves the queue, the claim stops expiring, and you are free to claim another post.
Flagged for Discussion
The Flagged for discussion view lists every flagged post with its reason and who flagged it. Toggle between All and Mine. Open a post to see its card and a Discussion thread where anyone on the team can reply.
Only the person who flagged a post can mark it Comment Posted. Anyone can Release it back to the queue. When a teammate replies on a post you flagged, a notice at the top of Reply Guy tells you, with a link straight to it.
Everyone in the account can be told when a post is flagged, but that notification is off until each person turns it on in their Notification Preferences. See Notifications.
Past Discussions
When a flagged post is commented on or released, its discussion moves to Past discussions, with how it ended. Those threads stay readable, so the reasoning behind a tricky comment is there the next time a similar post comes along.
Recent Comments
Recent comments lists the comments your team has recorded: who commented, on whose post, and when.
